Land Acknowledgement
I want to acknowledge that the land on which this practice operates is the traditional land of the Haudenosaunee (Six Nations) people. This land was granted as protected Haudenosaunee land in the Haldimand treaty of 1784 (between the British Crown and the Haudenosaunee people) as compensation for the alliance between the Haudenosaunee and the British Army during the American Revolution. As a settler, I recognize my privilege in being able to occupy this land for the purposes of serving all people in the community, without prejudice. I hope to embrace the concept of the “A Dish with One Spoon”; not taking more than I need and leaving the land just as enriched as it was prior to my arrival. My hope is that this office is a healing space that gives more than it takes.
