Meet The Team

Callie Farrell – Chiropractic Assistant and Nutritional guru

Callie grew up cooking. “When most kids were watching cartoons in elementary school, I was watching the Food Network,” she says when reflecting on how she became inspired toward her current field of health advocacy and nutrition expertise. After honing her cooking skills growing up in Brantford, Callie went on to study at Queen’s University for her Bachelor’s degree in Health Studies. It was while at university that Callie found her true calling: using her culinary abilities combined with her passion for a healthy lifestyle to educate and help others. She hasn’t looked back since.

Along with continuing to study holistic nutrition, there are numerous life experiences that have contributed Callie’s extensive knowledge and unmoving desire to spread health awareness. After being diagnosed with multiple food allergies early in her childhood and more during her studies at Queen’s, Callie was forced to seek alternative nutritional choices. What at first seemed to be a major setback and restriction in her life turned into a pivotal point in time, as during this period Callie learned how to create rich and satisfying meals out of healthy ingredients, and increased her awareness of diverse meat-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free options that have led to better health (and delighted her family and friends).

Now responsible for helping others achieve their healthy lifestyle goals alongside Dr. Courtney, Callie brings her extensive experience and nutritional education as well as her love for cooking and fitness to Gray Matter. And if that’s not enough, she can also make a pretty mean batch of vegan tacos.
